Steven O. Mosbey, 63, of Huntsville, passed away Monday, Aug. 15, 2022. Mr. Mosbey was born and raised in Michigan. After high school, he was a journeyman electrician. He moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas to attend the University of Arkansas where he studied Electrical Engineering and met his wife in a Physics class. The lovebirds then moved to Ft. Worth, Texas where he was in a co-op program at General Dynamics and attended the University of Texas in Arlington. He received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. After extensive moving around the country, he obtained his Master of Business Administration. Steve took a job with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineer in New Hampshire, which eventually brought them back to the south. Through the corps, he deployed to Afghanistan three times supporting the corps. While in Afghanistan, his wife was able to travel with him to Italy, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, where they celebrated their 30th anniversary. The two also enjoyed cruising to Alaska and the Southern Caribbean. They were planning to retiree to a home Steve had been working to design.
Steve was very inventive and had a brilliant mind. He was very creative in his work. He was a most cautious daredevil; had a heart of gold and was willing to help everyone in his life. Everything he did, he did for his family. The grandchildren called him Papaw.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Barbara; children, Charles Mosbey (Annette), Carissa Remillard (Jake), and Kel Mosbey; grandchildren, Stephen, Vera, Michael, James, and Lily; brothers, Ken Mosbey (Julie), Roger Mosbey (Kathy), and Rodney Mosbey (Debbie). He was preceded in death by his parents, Ken and Arless Mosbey.
The family will gather with friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. A ceremony will follow at 2:00 p.m.
