Nancy Sharon Wills, 44, of Huntsville, passed away Sunday, August 14, after a valiant battle with cancer.

She was born October 12, 1977, in Huntsville. She graduated from Athens High School in 1996, and received a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from Mississippi State University in 2000. She later earned a master’s degree in biology from UAH.

She is survived by her mother, Dianne Clayton Wills; brother Clayton Wills; aunts Winifred Wills James and Sharon Clayton Hayes; uncle Steve Clayton (Michele), several cousins and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Donald Wills; her maternal grandparents, Betty and Talmadge Clayton; and her paternal grandparents Fred and Ona Wills.

Nancy was passionate about music all her life. She played both the piano and violin, giving violin lessons at Huntsville Violins. She loved helping her students develop their talents to become accomplished musicians. She also played violin with several local bands including Maple Hill Band, the Fine Companions, and Kinvara. Although the violin was her first love, Irish Step dancing was a close second. She competed in many Feises and was proud of the ribbons and trophies she won.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Food Bank of North Alabama, P.O. Box 18607, Huntsville, AL 35804, or to the charity of your choice.

The family requests that you share a special memory or photo of Nancy on this site. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
