FLORENCE-Singing River Media Group and the City of Florence are excited to announce that the โ39th Spirit of Freedom Celebrationโ will kick off Independence Weekend in McFarland Park with fireworks and live music on Friday, July 1, 2022. The patriotic celebration will start with a live music lineup at 3:00 pm featuring a special guest headliner at 8:00 pm. The fireworks show will follow at 9:00 pm.
Singing River Media Group, comprised of WLAY, WVNA, WMSR, and WMXV, will have a live remote at McFarland Park and several food and beverage vendors. To register to be a vendor during the celebration, contact Singing River Media Group at (256) 383-2525.
Independence celebrations will include Downtown Florence Allianceโs First Friday Event on Friday, July 1 from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm, where market vendors will sell handmade merchandise and more on Court Street. On Thursday, June 30, the Florence Parks and Recreation Department will host a patriotic-themed Kids Fest at Lewis Field from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm which includes activities, inflatables, and snow cones.
