Obituary of Shirley Owen Funeral Services Celebrating the Life of Shirley Owen will be 2pm on Monday, May 12, 2025 at Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will take place from 12pm until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery.

Shirley passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Generations Senior Living in Saltillo, MS. She was born on January 13, 1944, to the late Mancel and Beatrice Kiddy. A graduate of Alcorn Central High School, Class of 1961, Shirley dedicated much of her professional life to serving as an administrative assistant. She was a lifelong member of Fraley’s Chapel Church of Christ.

Shirley was a woman of many talents. She found joy in painting, crocheting, and capturing the beauty of the world through her photography, particularly the stunning wildlife at Shiloh National Park. Her artistic spirit was a reflection of her vibrant personality, and her creations brought joy to those around her.

Shirley cherished time spent with her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, always ready with a listening ear, a warm hug, and a heart full of love. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she took immense pride in their accomplishments and happiness.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, James L Owen.

Shirley is survived by her daughters Leslie Marlar, Jennifer Coleman (David), and Courtney Vines (John); grandchildren, Blake Mascolo (Matt), Zach Marlar (Mikayla), Sheridan Marlar, Jase Coleman, Gency Coleman and Chloe Vines; a great grandson, Harrison Marlar; brothers, Jimmy Kiddy (Brenda) and Ricky Kiddy (Lisa); sister, Tamie Irvin (Tim); and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers include David Coleman, John Vines, Jace Coleman, Zach Marlar, Matt Mascolo, and Jason Marlar.
