We are deeply saddened to announce that Shelia Sue Wallace, age 65, of Athens passed away at Athens Limestone Hospital on July 23, 2026.Shelia was born to James and Mildred Legg Ward on July 29, 1960, in Limestone County, AL.
She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years Robert Wallace; one son Brandon Wallace (Haney); one daughter Brandie Andrews; one brother Donnie Saylors (Jean); six grandchildren Cooper, Addie and Avery Wallace, Jake and Alex Andrews and Abby Williams and four great grandchildren; David and Blakely Williams, Jaxzen and Kiestyn Andrews.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Shelia deeply loved her family and they were the center of her world. Spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was one of the highlights of her life. She enjoyed spending time with her fur baby Bodie.
Pallbearers will be Chris Saylors, Jake Andrews, Alex Andrews, Brandon Williams, Cooper Wallace and Brandon Wallace. Honorary pallbearers will be Jaxzyn Andrews, Kiestyn Andrews, and David Williams.
Visitation will be held at McConnell Funeral home on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 from 6 to 9 pm. A service in her honor will be held at McConnell Funeral Home on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at 11 am. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.
