Funeral services for Linda Louise Darden, 68, of Hanceville will be 1:00 P.M. Friday July 31st at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Hopewell Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Hanceville Funeral Home.
Mrs. Darden was born March 5, 1958 in Hammond, Indiana to the late James & Elizabeth Combs. She passed away July 29, 2026 in Hanceville, Alabama.
Linda was a woman of faith and had a heart that found joy in the simple blessings of life. She passed from this earthly home into the loving arms of her Savior.
A faithful member of Hanceville Assembly of God, Linda’s relationship with the Lord was the foundation of her life. She found great comfort in Scripture, especially the words of the Lord’s Prayer. Music was one of God’s greatest gifts to Linda. She loved playing her guitar and lifting her voice in praise, and among all the hymns she cherished, “I’ll Fly Away” was her favorite. Linda’s greatest happiness came from the people she loved. She treasured every moment spent with her husband, children and grandchildren. She had a special love for children and found joy in their laughter and innocence. She also had dogs which brought her great joy.
Linda will be remembered for her faith, music, and the love she freely shared with everyone blessed to know her. Though her family grieves her absence, they find peace in knowing she has heard the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant,” and has finally taken flight to her eternal home.
Mrs. Darden is survived by her husband of 42 years, Terry Darden; children, Kamie Villa, Amy Thomas (Jeremy), Christine Plasters, Melissa Darden, Brandon Darden; grandchildren, Leslie Doss (Matthew), Alivia Sheffield (Aaron), Ethan Jackson, Miles Smith, Beckett Jackson, Collins Jackson, Keeley Hudson, Davis Jackson, Heidi Plasters; siblings, Sharon Barnett, Joseph Barnett, Elizabeth “Boots” Radosevich, Arlene Lavett, James “Jimmy” Combs; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Mrs. Darden was preceded in death by her parents, James & Elizabeth Combs, and her siblings, Larry Barnett, and Darlene Barnett.
Serving as pallbearers will be Miles Smith, Jeremy Thomas, Beckett Jackson, Matthew Doss, Whit McCurley, and Collins Jackson.
