Sharon S. Davis Sharon S. Davis was born on May 16, 1958, in Yazoo City, Mississippi,
to Alice Smith and Prentiss Hubbard. She departed this life on
Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at her home in Plantersville, Mississippi.
For almost 50 years, Sharon was married to her beloved husband,
George L. Davis.
Sharon gave herself to Christ at a very young age and was a devoted
member of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Nettleton,
Mississippi, where she loved to sing in the choir.
She was a good, faithful, and tireless employee of Sears, Roebuck and
Company for 32 years until she retired in 2018. She loved her loyal
customers just as much as she loved her job.
Sharon loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, her family, and her

friends. She was an amazing cook, an avid reader, and the best self-
taught economizer. She was both a quiet, unassuming woman with the

most clamorous, infectious laugh that was usually the result of one of
her tales that one would never forget. Although she was very reserved
and quiet, Sharon was very selfless and always thinking of others first.
She was very well known for always remembering everyone’s birthdays,
anniversaries, and special dates in time.
Sharon was preceded in homegoing by her father, Prentiss Hubbard;
her grandmother, Rosa Lee Smith; and her brother, Calvin Smith.
She leaves behind her

husband, George L. Davis of Plantersville,
Mississippi; her only child, Rodney Davis (Benita) of Southaven,
Mississippi; her

mother, Alice Smith of Tupelo, Mississippi; her sisters:
Barbara Henderson of Yazoo City, Mississippi, Helen Smith and
Sandra Smith both of Kansas City, Missouri, and Darlene Williams of
Janesville, Wisconsin

; her brothers: Jerry Smith (Dee Dee) and Jamie
Smith (Valeda) both of Tupelo, Mississippi; and a multitude of
cherished aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
