Margaret Ruth Magnusson, aged 90, of Athens, departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, April 22nd, 2025, at Hospice Family Care. She was born on March 6th, 1935, in Nashville, Tennessee, to parents Edward Baxter Maxey and Georgia Irene Gunter Maxey.
Margaret is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Cindy Magnusson and Alisa Magnusson McBride, who is married to Danny. Her family and friends will fondly cherish the memories they created with her over the years. She loved her family, home, antiques, and most of all, working in the yard with her beautiful flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Martin L. Magnusson; her daughter, Joni Lynn Magnusson; and her son, James Marty Reed.
The funeral service celebrating Margaret’s life will be held on Saturday, April 26th, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by Brother Gerome Hillard. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation prior to the service from 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm at the funeral home. Margaret will be laid to rest at Hastings Cemetery following the service.
