Ruth Dessau Ruth Dessau passed away peacefully at home on Sunday in Huntsville, AL. She was born in Brooklyn NY and had a loving marriage to Harold Dessau for 59 years. Together they had three children – Lori (deceased), Daniel (living in Boulder, CO with his wife Kathy), and Debra (living in Huntsville) and two grandchildren (Michael and Jessica). Ruth had a beautiful voice that could lighten up any room, and she was an extremely accomplished pianist and piano teacher who influenced the lives of a great many students in the Huntsville area, and in Florida beforehand. She was committed to natural foods and natural living, and was a vegetarian her entire life. She and Hal loved spending time in their organic garden, especially when it was sunny. Most important to her, however, was her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She spent her last 47 years caring for and loving her special-needs daughter Debra, who was her constant companion. She will be greatly missed, and always remembered.
A graveside service will be held at 12 p.m., Friday, Dec. 20th, at Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville, AL with Rabbi Bill Goldberg officiating. (www.laughlinservice.com)
