Betty Ruth StampsBetty Ruth Swinea Stamps, 81, of Iron City, TN, passed away peacefully at home Decenter 17, 2019 after an extended illness. She was a born again Christian, devoted wife, mother, Mamaw, Great Mamaw, and sister. She was preceded in death by: Husband: Carlton Stamps Son: Carlon Stamps Grandson: Jeremy Atkins Parents: Wiley and Letha Swinea Brothers: Edward, Carrol, Arthur, Charlie, Robert, Louis, Thomas, Benton, and Clinton Swinea Sisters: Connie Reden, Wylene Belew, and Hazel Dodson Betty is survived by: Sons: Gaylon and Darryl Stamps of Iron City, TN Daughters: Jennifer Atkins (Larry) of Falkville, AL & Kimberly Wallace (Garry) of Killen, AL Grandchildren: Christopher and Joel Atkins (Madelyn) of Marietta, GA; Dewayne Stamps (Savannah), Andrew Stamps (Andrea), and Cody Stamps of Texas; Lucas Stamps (Maddy) of Iron City, TN; Anissa Moore (J.T.) of Killen, AL; Gabbreell Landford of Waynesboro, TN; Rachel Rohler (Brenton) of Florence, AL; and Taylor Wallace of Florence, AL Great-grandchildren: Clayton, Audrey, Lundyn, Braylee, Zayidin Stamps; Braxton Moore; and Lilian Yancey Brother: Roy (Judy) Swinea of Greenbrier, TN Sister: Elizabeth Hodges of Greenbrier, TN (4) Other Sister-in-laws Several nieces and nephews Precious friends: Macy Evans, Heather Campbell, and Daryll Burgess Visitation will be Saturday, December 21, 2019 from 5-8:00 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Sunday at 2:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Stacey Holt & Bro. Jeff Tingle officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Lexington, AL. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Honorary pallbearer will be J.T. Moore. The family would like to extend special thanks to Misty, Allison, Rhonda, and the Chaplains with Volunteer Hospice and with her caregivers Shelly and Lieshia. Greenhill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
