Martha Newby, 86, of Athens, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at her residence. Mrs. Newby was born November 3, 1933 in Limestone County to Thomas Glenn Sirten and Elsie Irene Hobbs Sirten.
Funeral services for Mrs. Newby will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Robert Fudge officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Williams and Pamela Newell; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, James D. Newby, Sr.; son, James D. Newby, Jr.; 5 brothers; 2 sisters.
Pallbearers are Spencer Williams, Chance Newby, Hayden Farmer, Clayton White, Cody Hills and Bryce Williams. Honorary pallbearer is Kolby Williams.
