Diane Wright Rita Diane Wright, 64, of Sumiton passed away on December 27, 2020 after a short battle with Covid-19. She worked as a cosmetologist for many years and gained many lifelong friends during that time, one very special friend Mrs. Joan Camp. She was a diehard Alabama fan. She also enjoyed the Friday night lights of high school football and could be found cheering loudly from the sidelines of every Sumiton Christian game, where her grandson played. She loved to cook and if you were around her for long she has cooked you one of her many special home cooked recipes. She loved each and every member of her family so much and considered each one to be so special in their own way. She loved trips to the casino, some with her dear friend Wanda Blevins, others with her nieces Rhonda Davis and Regina Killingsworth. She was preceded in death by her parents. Junior and Ernie Humphryes; brothers, Carlton and Benny Humphryes and sisters, Karen Roberts and Marlene Meadows. She is survived by her sons, Chris Wright (Tracy), Jack Wright (Amanda), Steven Wright, Jr. (Brittany) and Peter Wright (Candace Glover); 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; brothers, Buddy Humphryes (Carol) and Gary Humphryes (Sue); a sister, Geraldine Majors (Roger); several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Mrs. Wright had a sweet, loving spirit that will live long after she is gone.
Cremation services are being provided. Any memorial services will be announced at a later time.
