Lillie Mae Turner Lillie Mae Turner, age 87 of Quinton, passed away on Monday December 28, 2020 at her residence.
Mrs. Turner attended Quinton Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Howard College (now Samford University); She earned Master’s degrees from the University of Montevallo as well as the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She was a retired Educator, having taught at Graysville School, Brookside School, Brookville School, Oakman Elementary School, and ultimately retired from West Jefferson Elementary School. She was a member of the Bessie Buddies and also a member of the Red Hat Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Turner, Jr and her parents, Warren and Opal Vanderver.
Survivors include her daughters, Deb Higgins and husband Phillip and Tommie Lou Brasher and husband Mark; grandchildren, P.J. and Jeffrey Higgins, Heather Blackmon (Derek), Samantha Causey (Chase) and Jared McSpadden; great grandchildren, Cinnamon Goolsby, Savannah Higgins, Seth and Eli Burtram, Ella Mae and Noah Blackmon and C.J. Causey; many other relatives and a host of friends.
Graveside services and interment will be Thursday December 31, 2020 at 11:00 am at West Jefferson Freewill Cemetery. Rev. Joel Carden will officiate. Due to current Covid-19 protocols, there will be no public visitation, however, everyone who wishes to, may attend the graveside service.
