Richard “Chicken Boy” Dean Hartwell, 36, of Arab, Alabama died on Friday, January 5, 2024, in his
residence.
He was born on August 13, 1987, in Decatur, Illinois, to Keith Hartwell and the late Cathy Cooley. He was
preceded in death by his mother Cathy Cooley and sister Dawn Mayberry.
Richard is survived by his father Keith Hartwell, his stepmother Barbara Bennett, sister Nicole (Josh)
McKenney, brother Matthew (Sherry) Mayberry, brother Robert (Susan) Hartwell, and his adopted
daughter Tristian Hartwell.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Faith Rock Baptist Church in
Arab. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for you to donate to the diabetes association in his name.
