Reginald Colin Skinner, Jr., 80, of Huntsville, AL, died at Huntsville Hospital on May 24, 2018.   Mr. Skinner was born in Charles Town, West Virginia on November 29, 1937. He moved with his family to Huntsville as a three year old and lived most of his life here.   He attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and Athens College where he received his BS degree in physics. He later completed a MS degree in Systems Management from the Florida Institute of Technology. After a tour of duty in the U.S. Army, Mr. Skinner began his civilian career in 1963 working for The Boeing Company on the Saturn V and on the Lunar Rover programs. In 1973, he was hired by the U.S. Army where he worked in the Air Defense Command and Control and Airborne Command and Control Systems. He retired in 2003.

Mr. Skinner was a devoted father and enjoyed working with youth soccer and baseball teams. He was an active lifetime member of the Church of the Nativity. In his later years, he enjoyed the Golden Kiwanis Club, playing bridge with his Brookdale friends, and cheering for his beloved Crimson Tide.

Mr. Skinner was preceded in death by his parents, Ellen Catherine Britt and Reginald Colin Skinner, Sr.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Diane Snyder Skinner; children, Judy Crooks (Marc) of Huntsville, Stephanie Betts (Rick) of Atlanta, and Matt Skinner (Laura) of Tuscaloosa; and six grandchildren, Christopher Crooks; Emily Ann, Gracen, and Ansley Betts, Anne Reaves and Saxon Skinner.

The funeral will be on Wednesday, May 30th at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of the Nativity.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to either the Church of the Nativity or the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
