Regina Ellen Whyte Galzerano, 58, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away Sunday morning, Aug. 14, surrounded by her family.

Gina was born in Wiesbaden, Germany and raised as an Army brat in a military family. She graduated from Kaiserslautern American High School, class of 1981. She began a Civil Service career in the Javelin Missile Project Office. Through her 25 years of exemplary service to our U.S. Armed Forces and foreign partners, she ended her career as a Program Analyst with the U.S. Army PEO Missiles and Space, Lower Tier Project Office, managing aspects of the PATRIOT missile.

She was a devoted wife, mother and family member, and will be truly missed. She is survived by her loving husband of 15 years, Theodor Martin Galzerano; two daughters, Lyndsey Elizabeth Morgan and Angela Maria Galzerano; mother, Beverly Hard Whyte; two siblings, Tracy Durmick and husband, Gregory, and Mike Whyte and wife, Nora; and 10 nieces and nephews, Kerry, Kaylin, Julie, Billy, Amy, Sidney, Brandi, Jake, David and Sofia. Her father, William “Bill” Charles Whyte preceded her in death. As a single mother of Lyndsey for many years, Gina always showed absolute love, strength and sacrifice for her daughter.

Gina was the life of the party. She was happiest when cooking for guests to express her love for them. She especially loved to plan costume theme parties and host parade floats for special holidays. She had a genuine heart of gold with spontaneous generosity. She loved helping others anyway she could, if only to make them laugh and smile. She was a dedicated friend and trusted confidant. She had a loving devotion to her dogs and as a caring gardener, she was especially proud of her zinnias. She treasured vacations to the beach with family and friends. She and Theo enjoyed University of Alabama football and listening to live music.

A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2022, at Maple Hill Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at the family home, 1401 Blevins Gap Road, at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 4, 2022.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Ark Inc. Shelter at arkinc.org.
