Morgan Roxanne Box, born January 29, 1989, in Birmingham, Alabama, and raised in Guntersville, Alabama, passed away surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
Roxanne lived a life defined by strength, dedication, love, and perseverance. She proudly served her country as a member of the United States Army for eight years, a chapter of her life that reflected her courage, determination, and commitment to serving others.
After her military service, Roxanne devoted herself to her family as a homemaker. Always determined to better herself and create a brighter future for those she loved, she later pursued her bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Phoenix. Her dedication to her education opened the door to a new chapter in her life and a career she was proud of.
In January 2026, Roxanne joined Waffle House as a Unit Manager, taking on the responsibility of running the Guntersville location. She brought her strength, leadership, and determination to her work and took pride in the people she worked alongside and the community she served.
Above all, Roxanne was a daughter, granddaughter, sister, wife, mother, niece and friend. Her greatest legacy will not be found in her career accomplishments, but in the lives she touched and the love she gave to the people around her. She will be remembered for her strength, her perseverance, her willingness to fight for the people she loved, and the lasting memories she created with family and friends.
Roxanne is survived by her loving husband, Grady Box; her daughter, Nicki Jones; her sons, Dylan Jones and James Cole Brekken; her mother, Jennifer Garner; her brother, Danny “DJ” Garcia; her grandmother, Pam Mayo; her grandfather Eddie Dorning, her uncle Jamie Mayo her children’s father, Jamie Brekken; and countless other family members and friends who loved her dearly.
She leaves behind a family who will carry her memory in their hearts and a community of friends whose lives were forever touched by knowing her. Though her time with us was far too short, the love she gave and the memories she created will live on through her family and all who knew her.
A viewing will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Carr Funeral Home in Guntersville, Alabama.
Roxanne ‘s life was a testament to resilience, love, and the strength it takes to continue moving forward. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
