On November 30, 2023, our precious daughter, sister and friend received her heavenly reward and is now reunited with her beloved son, Jackson. Pippa was a 1983 graduate of Dora High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Lee College in Cleveland, Tennessee. After graduating from Lee, Pippa returned to her hometown of Sumiton, Alabama where she established All God’s Children Learning Center. She has been a lifelong member of Sumiton Church of God where she served as a member of the youth choir, senior adult choir and assisted with many children’s ministry productions through the years.
Pippa’s calling at All God’s Children has served working parents well as she created a special, loving bond with so many on such a personal level. Pippa’s love and devotion for “her kids” left a lasting impression on the families that she touched. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and lives of the many children who passed through All God’s Children.
Pippa is preceded in death by her grandparents, Lester & Louise Godfrey and James L. & Gladys Attaway; father, James L. Attaway; sister, Carmen Attaway and brother, James (Jimmy) Attaway and her son, Jackson Godfrey. She will be missed every day by her devoted mother, Cleo Attaway, brother, Greg Attaway, sister-in-law, Debbie Attaway, nephew, Chad Attaway (Dee) and a host of special friends.
After the passing of her son, Jackson, in 2020, Pippa established a memorial scholarship fund at Sumiton Christian School. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Jackson Louis Godfrey Memorial Scholarship Fund. Donations may be made at any location of Pinnacle Bank.
