Norma Faye Ellard, of Hanceville, Alabama, enter into the presence of our Lord on Friday evening, December 6, 2024, at the age of 86. Ms. Ellard was born in Cullman County, Alabama, on September 11, 1938, to Dewey Edward and Gertrude Rhoda Henderson Lee.
Ms. Ellard and her late husband, Conrad, were members of Walter Baptist Church where they enjoyed worshiping their Savior with their friends and neighbors.
Norma worked as a substitute teacher as well as a seamstress for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed quilting, putting together puzzles, and reading a good book. Ms. Ellard liked to cheer on both the Crimson Tide and the Braves, and she enjoyed watching them play when she could. Norma loved birds, and she made certain the feeder outside her window was always full for them.
Conrad and Norma were married for many years and Norma was a faithful and dedicated wife to her beloved. Norma was an only child, but she was blessed with four children of her own. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Ms. Norma leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness and her memory will be carried on through many generations.
Mrs. Ellard is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Conrad H. Ellard; grandson, Robert Harbison; brothers-in-law, Fred and Lois Ellard, Dwight Ellard; sisters-in-law, Clarice Henry, Ruth Crutchfield, and Jackie Ellard.
Those left to cherish Norma’s memory includes her children, Bruce and Nina Ellard, Anita and Phillip Harbison, Belinda and Randy King, Donna and Michael Self; grandchildren, Matthew and Amy Ellard, Aaron Ellard, Nathan and Aldys Harbison, Justin and Heather King, Jared and Laura King, Jordan and Rachel King, Rachel Self, Seth Self; great-grandchildren, Owen Ellard, Mattie Ellard, Ava King, Miles King, Claire King, Aubree King, Brennan King, Grayson King, Everly King; brothers-in-law, Pat Ellard, Jimmy and Evelyn Ellard; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ellard are 12 noon, Wednesday, December 11, 2024, in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel, where her son, Bruce Ellard will officiate. Burial will follow in Holly Pond Cemetery where Mrs. Ellard’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Friends are invited to visit with the Ellard family on Wednesday, beginning two hours prior to service time, from 10 a.m., until 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in memory of Ms. Norma to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
