Barry Alexander Huff, 81, of Roopville, Georgia passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on February 14, 2025. Visitation will be on Monday, February 17, 2025 from 9am to 11am at Roopville Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life will begin at 11am with Rev. Nathan Williams officiating and eulogy by Terry Harper. Burial will be immediately following at Roopville Cemetery with American Legion Post #143 providing military honors.

Mr. Huff survived by his wife, Joan Huff; sons, Joey Huff (Susan), Chris Huff (Noelle), and Jon Huff (Kara); sister, Jill Rivers; seven grandchildren, Tanner Huff, Kinsey Bilardello (Devin), Sam Huff, Sophie McGill (Seth), Malley Huff, Molly Huff, and Jackson Huff; great-granddaughter, Kollins Bilardello; aunt, Doris Hannah; nephew, Norman Tripp; and 3 great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his late wife, Jane Pate Huff; parents, Ralph and Macy Noles Huff; brother-in-law, Floyd Rivers; grandparents, Earnest and Jimmie Lou Alexander Huff, and Guy and Laura Arrington Noles.

Mr. Huff was born in Roopville, Georgia on December 12, 1943, to Ralph and Macy Huff. Barry attended Roopville High School until consolidation in 1959 where he then attended Central High School and graduated in 1961. After graduation, he attended West Georgia College and later played basketball at Southern Technical Institute majoring in Architectural Engineering and Building Construction.

Mr. Huff spent his career in the wire and cable industry for 36 years in Sales and Marketing where he retired as Vice President for CERRO Wire and Cable in 2002. After retirement, he and his wife Joan, relocated back to his hometown of Roopville, GA to enjoy the life of cattle farming.

Barry spent six years in the United States Army Reserve, was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose for over 50 years, a member of Roopville Baptist Church for over 70 years, a member of the Roopville Cub Scouts, and served on the Board of Directors for the Carroll County Water Authority for 15 years. He was a lifetime member of Roopville Historical Society where he served as President for 13 years. During his tenure, he worked alongside City Council and County Commissioners making grants and SPLOST funds impact on many projects: The Roop House, Roopville Agricultural Museum, Public Restrooms, City Pavilion, Walking Trail, City Stage, and Roopville Homecoming Festival. Barry was featured as the Grand Marshall in 2022 in recognition and appreciation of his dedication to his beloved town.

Pallbearers will be Tanner Alexander Huff, Samuel Joseph Huff, Jackson Alexander Huff, George Norman Tripp Jr., Jacob Timothy Tripp, and Tim Anthony Reed, Jr.
