NancyNancy C. Robinson, age 72, passed away on March 7, 2016 at her home in Huntsville, Alabama surrounded by family. She was born in Dalton, Georgia, to Ernest and Ruby (Branam) Carver and was the eldest of two children.

She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree at Mississippi State University in 1966 and moved to Huntsville in 1967 as a Systems Engineer at IBM, a career which lasted until her eventual retirement in 1992.  She, in actuality, never retired, however, from volunteering, civic involvement, and her passion of service to others.  She served with the North Alabama Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association in multiple positions, including the Board of Directors; she volunteered at Lee High School as both PTA Secretary and President and with its Lee Lyric Theater as Co-President.  She also worked extensively with First Christian Church, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, North Alabama Lung Association, March of Dimes, the Huntsville Jayceettes, and many others.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, John III; her son and daughter-in-law, John IV & Maegan, son, J. Breck, and daughter and son-in-law, Shannon & Josh Klaehn; her grandson, Connor Klaehn; her brother and sister-in-law, Donald & Connie Carver, as well as numerous relatives and countless friends.

Visitation will be held at First Christian Church, Huntsville, on Thursday, March 10, at 1pm with services to follow at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family is setting up a charity in Nancy’s name to contribute to research for neurological diseases; information on its launch will be posted at https://www.nancycrobinson.org.

She will be remembered by all as a sharp wit whose talent for quips is the stuff of legends and as a devoted and selfless individual who constantly put others before herself, a Giving Tree in the truest sense of those words. In short: she left the world better than she found it.
