Funeral service for Myrtle Estelle Tanksley, age, 83, of Moulton, will be Thursday, March 26, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Moulton Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Copeland officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from noon until time of service. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Tanksley, who died Monday, March 23, 2015, at Lawrence Medical Center, was born August 16, 1931, in Lawrence County, to Bass E. Rutherford and Essie Lipscomb. She was retired from Bell South and she was a member of Moulton Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Everett Tanksley; brothers, Clyde and Wilburn Rutherford, and sisters, Ruby Warren and Mini Sue Berryman.
Survivors include daughters, Tina Saint and Lisa Romei; grandchildren, Ashley (Christi) Allen, Nyssa (Brent) Adkins, Kirstin Cooksey, Amanda(Brent) Clark, and Sarah Saint; great-great-grandchildren, Ashton Allen, Straten Allen, Tilleigh Allen, Emory Adkins, Jude Adkins, and Mac Clark. Other survivors are Betty McLemore, Vera Nell Steadman, Doris Faye Louallen and numerous loved nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ashley Allen and Mike Tanksley.
