Laila Juanita Crow, age 81, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2015. She was married to James E. Crow, her loving husband of 50 years before he passed away seven years ago.
She is survived by her daughters, Laila Elizabeth Michetti, Noelle Crow Calamusa and husband, Rocco Calamusa Jr.; grandchildren, Alex Michetti, Nick Michetti, Kendall Calamusa, and Sydney Calamusa.
Juanita was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She was empowering and encouraging to those who knew her. Her generosity touched many. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Decatur for many years and attended Mt. Chapel Methodist Church in Vestavia, Alabama, for the past seven years. She taught Sunday School and was a leader in her church Circle group at both locations for most of her adult life. She was an avid bridge player and talented artist. She retired from Bobby Lang Pontiac in Decatur.
Visitation will be held tonight, March 25, 2015, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home, Decatur. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Chapel with burial following in Roselawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Mt. Chapel Methodist Church, Vestavia Hills, Alabama.
