Charles “Bud” Austin Cottingham – Obituary

Funeral service for Charles “Bud” Austin Cottingham, age 80, of Danville, will be Thursday, March 26, 2015, 10 a.m. at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Dennis Terry and Nelson Tucker officiating. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Cottingham, who died Monday, March 23, 2015, at his residence was born April 15, 1934, in Lawrence County, to Austin Cottingham and Dollie Cottingham. He was an electrician and enjoyed gardening, (growing large watermelons) and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Randy Cottingham; and his first wife, Helen Cottingham.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Cottingham; sons, Lynn Cottingham (Sherry), Jeff Cottingham, Eugene Cottingham, all of Decatur, and Jake Cottingham (Diann), of Danville; daughters, Linda Borden (Randall), Gail Stricklin (Keith), both of Trinity, and Teresa Henry, of Decatur; seven grandchilden; six great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchilden; brother, James Cottingham, of Trinity; and sisters, Doris Mann, of Huntsville and Betty French, of Decatur.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Stricklin, Justin Stricklin, Christopher Cottingham, Jeremy Cottingham, Jeffery Cottingham, and Barry Austin.
