FLORENCE-This year event will consist of a 5K and 1 Mile Fun/Run, Car Show and Beauty Pageant at McFarland Park in Florence, Al (Pavilion #1).
Proceeds from this day support #988 Suicide Crisis Lifeline and Scholarships. We will also honor first responders and veterans. Being the 4th of July weekend, we wanted to thank our First Responders and veterans for their service. This year’s event will also include the inaugural Miss Singing River Beauty Pageant for girls ages 0 – 18. The pageant will be emceed by Silvie Miller, Miss Northwest Shoals Community College and Diamond Paris Eggleston, Miss Tennessee Valley’s Teen. Last year, thanks to sponsors and runners, Diamond was able to donate over $2,000 to #988 Suicide Lifeline Crisis Center. There will be food trucks, vendors and non-profits organizations at this year’s event.
We are so grateful to individuals and sponsors who have made donations this year, especially the Long-Lewis Foundation. Special guest will be Mayor Andy Betterton (City of Florence) who will assist Diamond with Kick-off the 5K Run.
