Michael R. Satterfield, of the Owens Cross Roads community, passed away quietly, Sunday night March 10th, 2024, at his home.

He was the son of the late Willard Aaron Satterfield and Verdie Thigpen Satterfield. Born November 8, 1965. He was raised in the Hazel Green, Alabama area. He lived in the New Hope community for much of his life and worked as a volunteer fireman for many of those years.

Mike was preceded in death by his loving parents, his step-mother, (Dessie Wimberly Satterfield); his mother-in-law,(Barbara A. DeArmond); three brothers, (Daryl Satterfield, Curtis Satterfield, and Mark Satterfield); and a sister (Janet Riggins), and 2 nieces.

He is survived by the light of his life, his loving wife of 31 1/2 years, (Michelle D. Satterfield); his sisters, Debbie S. McBride (Michael); Lori S. Carter (Stanley), his sister-in-laws; Eileen T. Satterfield and Odessa Satterfield. He also leaves behind, a host of nephews, nieces, friends and a wonderful church family.

Mike was a 1984 graduate of Hazel Green High School. He worked in the commercial HVAC business for many years and worked many enjoyable years as a Building Manager with The Broadway Group, who became like family. Among the life enjoyments that he had were, Alabama Football, Civil War History and traveling.

He was a faithful member and a deacon at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Owens Cross Roads, Alabama.

The family would like to thank his church family, friends, and his work family for all the love, care, visitation, and prayers. He knew the Lord and we look forward to a reunion with him some day.

Visitation will be Wednesday 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday at 11:00 am with Rev. Chris Weaver, Rev. Dewayne Martin and Rev. Benny Berry officiating.

Interment will be in Bevill’s Chapel Cemetery.
