  Barbara King Norton Profile PhotoBarbara King Norton, 86, resident of Orange Park, Florida, died Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at her residence.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.  The family will visit with friends Friday, March 15, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home.  Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army at www.salvationarmyusa.org. Barbara was born in Mt. Pleasant, TN on April 16, 1937 to the late Olie King and the late Dorothy Mayberry King.  She graduated from Columbia Central High School in 1955. Barbara married William French “Bill” Norton on February 9, 1957 and he preceded her in death on April 23, 2008.  She loved country music and especially spending time with her family and was a member of Orange Park United Methodist Church in Florida.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen Norton Logsdon (Mike) of Louisville, Kentucky; son, John Norton of Jacksonville, Florida; two grandchildren, Andrew Logsdon (Serena) and Cody Logsdon; a great grandchild, Addison Logsdon; two nieces, Connie Barnhill and Phylliss Simmons; nephew Tommy (Sandra) Goetz; special family member, George Simmons; and many more nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Wright.
