Born on Sunday, January 7th, 1940, in Cloud’s Cove, Tacey Louise “Mabel” James, 84, of Boaz, passed away at 8:05 am on March 10th, 2024.

Her favorite past times were reading the bible, going to church, spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, antiquing, and watching Country Life Vlog. She also loved animals and enjoyed all the neighborhood dogs that came to visit. She was a member of the Holiness denomination, first Cave Springs then Welcome Home, for almost fifty years. During mealtimes at the Lanier home, the twins heard the daily call, “Mabel, set the table, and Marie, pour the tea.”

Surviving are daughter, Theresa (Doug) Flanagin; granddaughter, Cicely Nicole Friar; and great grandchildren, Shelby Grace Weaver, Montgomery James Friar, and Lola Marie Friar.

Visitation will be Thursday 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will follow Thursday at 3:00 PM with Bro. Ollie Taylor officiating and Bro. Wade Martin assisting.

Interment will be in Hampton Cove Cemetery.

Special thanks to Morgan, Jade, Lindy, Valerie, Ashleigh, and Brittney for their support and care.
