Michael Lee Mathena, age 83, of Athens passed away after a short illness February 10, 2026, and was reunited with his wife of 61 years, Ada Lewis Mathena. He was born December 11, 1942, in Indiana and was a proud Air Force Veteran. Mr. Mathena was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Ruth Mathena, brother, Richard, sisters, LeMoyne and Sharon, and his son, Bryan.
He is survived by his son, Michael Keith (Ann) Mathena, daughter, Misty (Harvey) Cooper, and his beloved dog, Toby.
Per his wishes no services are planned at this time.
