Hobert Henry “Hobie” Butler, Jr.,82, of Leighton, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, February 21, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia.
Hobie was a veteran of the US Air Force. During his twenty-three years of service to his country, he was able to see and experience the world. After his military retirement, Hobie went to work for the State of Alabama as a Tax Deputy. He retired after ten years. Hobie loved telling stories and was an avid golfer and a member of the Tennessee Valley Country Club. He was preceded in death by is wife, Betty Jo Butler; and parents, Hobert and June Butler.
Hobie is survived by his daughter, Leslie Butler (Anita); brother, Donnie Ray Butler (Shirley); sisters, Jo Ann Griffin (Danny) and Brenda Faye Butler; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staffs of Helen Keller Hospital, Cottage of the Shoals, and Hospice of North Alabama.
