Melvin Eugene Ligon, age 73, of Muscle Shoals, died Saturday, May 24, 2014. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, May 27, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia.
Mr. Ligon was born on June 9, 1940, to Noble Lennon and Burtrice Crittenden Ligon. Mr. Ligon served his country in the United States Army National Guard. He retired from Reynold’s Metals Company as an aluminum worker. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Tuscumbia.
Mr. Ligon was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Reba Woods.
Survivors include wife, Mary Ann Ligon; sons, Adam Ligon (Regina), Gregory Ligon (Marilyn), and Matthew Ligon (Margie); sister, Deborah Whitten; and grandchildren, Emma, John, and Noble Ligon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to any of the following organizations: Gideons International, Choose Life of North Alabama, Russell Hill Foundation, Covenant Christian School, or a charity of choice.
