It is with profound sadness that we announce that Mary Lou Vandever Eller was called to her heavenly home on April 11, 2025, after a short illness. She fought the battle fiercely and never gave up! She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. She was the sweetest, kindest, most precious soul and was cherished by all who came to know her. She was full of joy and always ready to celebrate life. She especially enjoyed playing cards and attending events with her friends in Foley, Alabama as often as she could get there. Booray was one of her favorite card games, and according to her friends, she usually walked away the winner!

Mary Lou was born in West Chester, Pennsylvania to Louella and James Vandever on January 3, 1939. She moved to Cullman, Alabama in 1976 and later retired from property management in Anniston in 2013. She moved to Madison to live with her daughter in 2021. She loved her home with her daughter, and her very favorite place to be was the screened back porch where she could watch the beautiful variety of birds that came to visit her daily. She also enjoyed a good margarita in the evenings every now and then!

She is survived by her three children, Rebecca Eller of Madison, Alabama, Jim Eller (Susan) of Cullman, Alabama, and Frank Eller of New Deal, Texas; five grandchildren, Megan Eller, Sarah Eller, Jonah Beasley, Jordan Beasley, and Ian Eller;  one great-grandchild, Collin Calvert; and two precious fur babies, Queenie and Princess.

.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the coming weeks for family and friends. She was loved by so many.

If you feel so inclined, memorials can be made to her church, Madison Methodist Church, 127 Church Street, Madison, AL 35758.
