Mary Kathryn “Kathy” Richey, 55 of Sumiton, passed away on Thursday July 25, 2019 at her residence. Kathy loved her children and grandchildren with her whole heart. She loved to sing and loved life. She was a member of Morgan United Methodist. She attended Argo Church of God. She was loved by all and will be missed by many.
Funeral services will be Friday August 2, 2019 at 11:00 am in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev. Ricky Adams will officiate. Burial will follow in New Horizon Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Friday from 10-11 am.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Brandy Richey; father, Milford Rouse and her father and mother-in-law, Claxton “Papa” and Mildred “Nanny” Richey and her granddaughter, Baby Mia.
Survivors include her husband, Rick Richey; son, Adam Richey (Mirta); daughters, Lindsey Richey (Alan Dodson) and Chelsey Bartlett; grandchildren, Taylen, Trustin, Trace, Teagan, Aubrey, Makhi, Eli, Gage, Caden and Chloe; mother, Ila Mae Rouse; siblings, Lloyd Rouse (Janice), Linda Stone, Barbara Elders, George Rouse, Ila Faye Green (Robert) and Cheryl Sargent (Paul); a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; several other relatives and many friends.
