Marcie Lee “M.L.” Cornelius, Jr., age 71 of Cherokee, passed away on December 26th, 2014. His visitation will be Sunday, December 28TH, 2014 from 12:00 p.m.-2:00p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Billy George officiating. Interment will be in Smith Cemetery.
M.L. was a member of Asphalt Rock Baptist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge (Vertagreen Lodge No. 919). He retired as a Heavy Equipment Operator in the Mining Industry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcie Lee, Sr. and Mammie Lucille Cornelius; son, Stevie Dale Cornelius; brother, Jimmy Ray Cornelius; and sister, Annette Elliott.
M.L. is survived by his sons, Greg Cornelius and wife Tresa and Casey Cornelius; daughter, Regina Borden and husband Jerry; brothers, Ronnie Cornelius and Joe Cornelius and wife Shane; sister, Becky Massey and husband Larry; grandchildren, Brittany Darling and husband Daniel, Greg, Austin, and Weston Cornelius and Kaytlin Marquess; and great-grandchildren , Daniel Jr., Brianna and Baby Darling.
Leslie Cornelius, Roy Bunns, John Maxwell, Randy South, Dustin Cornelius, and D.W. McKee will serve as pallbearers. Joe Hayes and David Cornelius will serve as honorary pallbearers.
