MADISON-The Madison Police make an arrest in the shooting that took place on Wednesday, January 27:
“On January 27, 2016, Madison Police Officers responded to the 100 block of Collington Place in reference to a shooting. Patrol officers made contact with the victim and ensured the scene was safe. Madison Police Detectives conducting the investigation developed information that the suspect was Braxton Reed Edwards of Decatur.
On January 28, 2016, Madison Police arrested 19-year-old Braxton Reed Edwards for Menacing, Reckless Endangerment, and Discharging a Firearm in the City Limits.
Edwards allegedly fired several shots from a pistol towards an 18-year-old in the 100 block of Collington Place in Madison on January 27th at approximately 6:30 pm. There were no injuries reported during the shooting. Police believe the altercation to have occurred during a drug transaction.
Edwards was booked into the Madison County Jail with a $6706 bond.
