MADISON-the Madison Police arrested three bail bondsmen for impersonating law enforcement.  Here is what the Madison Police have to say:

“On April 23rd, 2015 at approximately 6:00 pm, several citizens called 911 and reported seeing men at Highway 72 and Wall Triana Highway standing outside a car in the roadway pointing guns inside another vehicle. Based on their actions, some callers thought they may have been undercover law enforcement officers. The subjects involved were quickly located by Madison Police Officers. The subjects identified themselves with badges very similar to the United States Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force and initially identified themselves to Madison Police as being part of the “fugitive task force”. Further investigation revealed them to be private bail bondsmen who were attempting to apprehend someone who they thought was a fugitive. Based on the actions they took and identifying themselves as members of the “fugitive task force”, detectives obtained warrants for their arrest. Today the following individuals turned themselves in to the Madison Police Department on the charge of Impersonating a Peace Officer. They were booked into the Madison County Jail on $2500 bond.

45 year old Walter Rua of Huntsville
27 year old Thomas Ramsey of Huntsville
38 year old Angelo Contino of Meridianville

The Madison Police Department would like to thank the citizens who called 911 for reporting this dangerous incident.”
