HUNTSVILLE-On Friday evening, April 4, 2025, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office arrested one of its own following an internal investigation conducted by the Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit.
Detention Officer Kadarius Shermaine Todd, a probationary employee, was taken into custody after narcotics agents discovered he was involved in smuggling contraband into the Madison County Jail in exchange for money. Todd was apprehended when he arrived to meet a contact and receive a package intended for inmate delivery. The package in question contained multiple prohibited items, including Suboxone (a controlled substance), cigarettes, cell phones, and tools. Upon his arrest, he admitted to his actions to Sheriff’s detectives.

Todd has been charged with:
➤Conspiracy to Commit a Controlled Substance Crime – $10,000 bond
➤Two Counts of Conspiracy to Commit a Crime – $3,000 bond each
Todd was a probationary employee and was immediately terminated following his arrest. He remains in custody at the Madison County Jail.
Sheriff Kevin Turner stated, “I hope this sends a clear message – no one is above the law. When you take an oath to serve and protect, that comes with a responsibility to uphold the integrity of this profession. We will not tolerate any actions that compromise the safety and security of our facility or the trust of our community.”
