Lavonda Marie Pennington, age 62, of Russellville, passed away on Thursday, January 09, 2025 at North Mississippi Hospital in Tupelo.
Lavonda graduated 1980 from Belgreen High School and went on to Northwest Shoals Community College and became a RN. She has worked for the last 25 years as a tax preparer in Russellville at H&R Block. She was a devoted member of Mountain View FWB Church. She loved the Lord with all of her heart. She was a loving wife, mother, and MaMaw and she loved all of her family and especially her grandchildren. She took care of everyone and always had a kind word to say. The family will cherish the memories they share with Lavonda.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Johnson and sisters, Eronda Vincent and Wayna Martin.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 44 years, Mike Pennington; children, Brandi Williams (Brock), Blake Pennington (Cheryl); grandchildren, Braden & Bryleigh Williams, Chance, Madison, Cadence, & Brileigh Pennington; mother, Betty Johnson; sister, Johanna West; several nieces & nephews, and a host of friends.
The visitation will be 12-2 p.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Bro. John Barton, who is officiating the service. The burial will be at East Franklin Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be Kalon Vincent, Braxton Vincent, Daniel Beard, Sean Taylor, Jordan Barton, and Paul Pounders.
