With heavy hearts and immense sadness, we announce the passing of Judy Lynn Dison,
lovingly known to so many as “Nanny,” on May 26, 2026, at the age of 73.
Judy was the heart of her family — a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother and
great-grandmother, and a loyal friend to everyone fortunate enough to know her. She lived
a life centered around love, family, and caring for others. Her kindness, warmth, and
strength left a lasting impact on every person who crossed her path.
To know Judy was to know unconditional love. She had a way of making everyone feel
welcomed, comforted, and cared for. Whether through her warm hugs, comforting words,
home-cooked meals, laughter, or simply her presence, she made life brighter for the
people around her. She was the kind of person who put others before herself and loved her
family with her whole heart.
Judy was especially known for her incredible cooking and canning. She fed more people
throughout her life than anyone could possibly count, and no one ever left her home
hungry. Her kitchen was a place of comfort, gathering, and love — always filled with good
food, conversation, and warmth. Family, friends, neighbors, and anyone lucky enough to
sit at her table knew they were being cared for in the purest way. Her recipes, traditions,
and memories made around her table will be treasured for generations to come.
Some of the most cherished memories shared by her family were the simple moments
spent together — holidays, conversations around the table, visits filled with laughter, and
the countless ways she showed up for the people she loved. Her family was her greatest
joy and proudest accomplishment.
Judy is survived by her loving husband, Larry Dison (Popa); her daughters, Wendy Harlan
(Patrick), Lisa Jones, and Amy Dison (Shane). She is also survived by her sisters, Linda
Putman (Dale), and Dana Stanford Mullins (Michael). She also leaves behind her beloved
grandchildren: Alexander, Jill, Clara, Samantha, Owen, Jordan, Jake, and Bria. Along with
several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends
who will forever cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her father Charlie Stanford, her sister Brenda Stanford,
and her grandson Jake Tuck.
Though her family’s hearts are broken, they find comfort in knowing the love Judy gave so
freely will continue to live through the many lives she touched. The lessons she taught, the
memories she created, and the love she poured into her family will never fade.
Those who knew Judy will always remember her beautiful heart, her strength through
difficult times, her caring spirit, and the way she made everyone around her feel like family.
She was deeply loved, and her absence will be felt every single day.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 5 to 8pm at Limestone Chapel
Funeral Home, with funeral services following on Sunday, May 31, 2026, starting at 2pm
with graveside to follow.
Judy will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. Her memory will live in the
hearts of all who knew and loved her.
