Born on February 3, 1956, in Memphis, Tennessee, Judy was the cherished daughter of the late Robert and Chapet Napper Russell. She dedicated many years of her life to helping children as a Special Education Teacher’s Assistant at West Union School, where her gentle heart, patience, and caring nature made a lasting difference in the lives of her students. She was a faithful member of Ingomar Community Church.

Judy was the kind of person whose warmth could light up a room. Loving, caring, kind, and sweet, she loved deeply and wholeheartedly. If Judy loved you, you never had to wonder—she made sure you knew it. She had a joyful spirit and loved to laugh, spend time with family and friends, and make memories with those she held dear.

She found happiness in the beauty of life, whether she was sailing across the water, listening to the waves at the ocean, creating floral arrangements, or sewing something special for someone she loved. Yet of all the things Judy enjoyed, nothing brought her greater joy than her family. Her daughters were her pride, her sons-in-law were loved as her own, and her grandchildren were the light of her life. She treasured every moment spent with them and never missed an opportunity to tell them how much they were loved.

Judy also carried a special place in her heart for her beloved husband, David. She missed him greatly and looked forward to the day they would be reunited. Her love for him never faded and remained a treasured part of who she was.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Erin Moore (Robert) of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Alena Brown (Jon) of Oxford; her sister, Andrea Weaver of Memphis, Tennessee; her adored grandchildren, Caden Moore, Madison Moore-Phillips, Chloe Moore-Phillips, and Mayzie Kayte Moore-Raines; and her faithful canine companions, Lucy and Izzy, who brought her comfort and companionship.

In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Moore; three brothers, Victor Russell, Daniel Russell, and Bobby Russell; and one sister, Delores Conklin.

Judy’s life was a beautiful reflection of love, devotion, and kindness. The memories she created, the laughter she shared, and the love she poured into her family will continue to be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care invites you to share memories and condolences with the Moore family.
