Johnny Ray Willis  Johnny Ray Willis 78, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at North Alabama Medical Center.

Johnny proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from Reynolds Aluminum almost 25 years ago. He loved all types of auctions, including cattle, horses, and cars. He owned and operated Wholesale Motors in Russellville for many years, where he made many lifelong friends. Johnny married his high school sweetheart, Susie, and they enjoyed many wonderful years together. He passed away on their 60th wedding anniversary. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Johnny was a loving husband and father and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He leaves his family with many wonderful memories to cherish.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Flora Susie (Seahorn) Willis; daughters, Angie Willis Compton, Micki Willis; grandchildren, Jay Compton (Ashley), Joey Compton (Brooke), Callie Compton, John Isaac Willis Wilson (Samara); great-grandchildren, Ella & Emma Compton, Knoxley & Briley Kate Compton, Willow Wilson; brothers, Donnie Willis (Nancy), Billy Willis (Sandra); and several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pelham & Mary Lee (Grissom) Willis.

The visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 03, 2025, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Robert Wood and Bro. Jeff Fleming officiating the service. The burial will be at Franklin Memory Gardens with full military honors.

The pallbearers will be Albert Hester, Joel Uptain, John Isaac Willis Wilson, Chris “Buttercup” Murray, Quinton Hodge, and Jeff Compton.

The family requests that you write down your favorite memory of Johnny and bring it to put in the memory box that will be at the visitation. The family is looking forward to reading your memories and the good times shared with Johnny.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Keller Home Health, 43 Grill, and Russellville First Responders for their kindness and excellent care in our time of need.
