Johnny Burns Smith Johnny Burns Smith, age 77, of Russellville, passed away on Thursday, August 05, 2021 at his residence.

Johnny was a loving husband, dad, and papa.  He loved his family, especially his grandchildren!  He loved his former co-workers and was always ready with a quick one-line or a funny story.  He loved to laugh and never took life too seriously.

Johnny loved to hunt, especially turkey hunting!  He loved to brag about having a gobbler in the truck and still being at work on time!

In addition to his family, Johnny loved his church and church family.  He was a deacon and faithful member of Eastside Missionary Baptist Church until his health prevented his attending.

We humbly ask that all of our friends and family remember Johnny as we do, as a fun loving, loyal man of God!  He would want all of his family and friends to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, so that we can one day be together again in heaven.

The visitation will 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 08, 2021 at Eastside Missionary Baptist Church, with the funeral service following at 3:00 p.m. at the church.  Officiating the service will be Bro. Keith Prince.   Burial will be at Knights of Pythias Cemetery.  Due to the rising number of COVID cases, the family appreciates you coming and love all of you, but request please no physical contact.  Our main goal is to try to keep everyone safe.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 55 years, Patricia Cummings Smith; son, Tim Smith (wife, Debbie); grandchildren, Hunter Smith (Megan Brockway), Caitlan Swinney (Chase), Anna Catherine Smith; father-in-law, Vern Cummings; sister-in-law, Charlotte Smallwood (Rodney); and several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hubert H. Smith; mother, Mary Odell Smith; brother, William “Harold” Smith; sisters, Edna Sanders, Ruth Bozeman, Bernice McKinney; and mother-in-law, Frances Cummings.

The pallbearers are Hunter Smith, Charlie Canida, Pete Smith, David Scruggs, Ricky Hall, and Ramsey Owen.  The honorary pallbearers will be the Men’s Sunday School Class of Eastside Missionary Baptist Church, Rodney Smallwood, Johnathan Ergle, and Chris Moon.
