John “Timmer” Workman – Obituary

John “Timmer” Workman, age 83, of Ethridge, TN passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Southern TN Regional Health System in Lawrenceburg, TN. He was a native of Maury County, TN, retired from the U.S. Army, past mayor for the City of Ethridge, a member of Ethridge Volunteer Fire & Rescue, VFW Post 1618, Disabled American Veterans, and Ethridge Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Annie Mae Attkisson Workman; his wife, Ola Emma “Missie” Luttrell Workman; six sisters, Dorothy Lynch, Janice Grooms, Clarice Walker, Nora Gene Hillhouse, Wilma Reynolds, and Anna Workman; and one brother, Gary Workman.

He is survived by

One Son –
Davaid Workman (Sheila), Ethridge, TN

One Brother –
Glenn Workman, Goodland , KS

One Grandson –
Caleb Workman, Ethridge, TN

Several Nieces and Nephews also survive

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, March 13, 2015 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 14, 2015, with David Stofel officiating. Interment will follow at Old Ethridge Cemetery in Ethridge, Tennessee with full military honors. Family suggests memorials be made to Ethridge Volunteer Fire & Rescue.

He was my uncle and a very proud man who would help anyone. I will truely miss him.
All of you who had any part in his funeral, i was so amazed by all the people and fire
fighters, military, his chuch members. And preacher, spot on. I thank you all..R.I.P. John
