HUNTSVILLE-Alabama A&M University will be continuing their Dean’s Speaker Series on March, 19 2015 at 12:30 p.m. with keynote speaker Markeeva Morgan. The event will be held on campus at Arthur J. Bond Hall, room 233.
Mr. Markeeva Morgan manages the development of the Avionics Systems in relation to
the Space Launch System as the Avionics Hardware Systems Lead in the Stages Office. Duties also include monitoring contractors engaged in this work, direct, monitor, and/or manage the development and design of large, new, and unusually complex technology, equipment, or systems associated with the flight avionics and software systems that result in major advancement in the state-of-the-art of broad technologies, including the research, development, design, test, and evaluation of integrated aerospace vehicle systems and their components and subsystems for the control, navigation, and guidance of flight vehicles in the atmosphere and space. Makes substantial and continuing contributions to long-range project planning and to the formulation, modification, and determination of overall objectives. Serves as an authoritative source of information for decisions and guidance concerning changes in program objectives relating to the management of the total project effort for avionics and software. Provides authoritative project decisions, programmatic advice, and consultation to contractors on variables and unknowns affecting planning, coordination, and critical aerospace engineering problems with respect to safety, costs, and project performance.
He graduated from the University of Mississippi in Oxford with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in 2001, and a master’s in engineering management from The Catholic University of America in Washington in 2006. He was inducted into the Ole Miss Student Hall of Fame in 2001 and honored as the Outstanding Young Alumnus in 2007.
