It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Qwyer Jr., who left us on August 21, 2023, at the age of 76. He was born on January 21, 1947, and he brought joy and love to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
John Qwyer Jr. is survived by his grandson Kristopher Agreen, and his brothers Bob and Bill Qwyer. He was a beloved grandfather and brother, and his presence will be deeply missed by all.
John’s life was characterized by his warmth, humor, and love for his family. A dedicated software engineer by profession, he approached his work with passion and dedication. Beyond his professional accomplishments, John had a deep love for sailing and dancing. He would often be found on the open water, feeling the wind in his sails, or on the dance floor, moving to the rhythm with a twinkle in his eyes.
John also proudly served his country in the navy, a chapter of his life that shaped his sense of duty, camaraderie, and adventure.
His passion for woodworking was evident in his creations, which will stand as lasting testaments to his creativity and craftsmanship.
Friends and family are invited to join in a celebration of John’s life on September 1st, 2023, at the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of John Qwyer Jr.
