Mary Frances Hanvey Auston, 86, of Hartselle, Alabama passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at her residence. Funeral Services will be on Monday, January 6, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. T. Reynolds Hall, Dr. David Gamble, and Rev. Seth Keenum officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service at the chapel. Mrs. Auston will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur, Alabama.
Frances was born in Alabama on December 20, 1938 to Bennie and Lora Mae Tapscott Hanvey. She became an assembler by trade in the auto parts industry. She was a devoted Christian and a member of Bethel Baptist Church for 38 years.
Mrs. Auston was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family. Her kindness and love will endure in the hearts of all who knew her. Although we mourn her passing, we take comfort in knowing that she has been reunited with her loved ones in the embrace of eternal peace.
Mrs. Auston was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Ezelle White Hanvey; son-in-law, Huey McLain; siblings, Raymond Hanvey, Gladys Hanvey, Leslie Griffin, Elizabeth Dutton, and Easter Lovvorn.
Mrs. Auston is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Ernest A. Auston; children, Vickie McLain, and LaGrant Auston (Sheree); grandchildren, Angel Wickman (Andy), Benjamin Nave (Stacey), Joseph Nave (Tonya), Nikki Keenum (Seth), Tiffany Lightle (Travis), Erin Carpenter (James), Gabe Leight, C.J. Stewart, and Chelsea Stewart; seventeen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Lib Hassler, Wayne Hanvey (Gail), and Caroline McCoy (Gary).
Pallbearers will be her great-grandsons: Jacob Nave, Carter Nave, Auston Wickman, Sam Keenum, Elijah Keenum, C.J. Stewart, Kaiya Nave, and Cameron Nave.
