John Edward Berryman, age 64, of Flat Rock passed away on July 21, 2026. A private service will be held by the family.
John was a Leighton native and a Colbert County High School graduate. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sgt. He served in the Persian and Gulf Wars, as well as several international and domestic deployments. John was a member of Leighton United Methodist Church, Leighton Masonic Lodge #43 and a member of the Brethren Masonic Riders Association.
He is survived by his children, Roy Berryman (Maranda), Holly Backe (Tommy); mother, Janice Metcalf; brother, James Berryman (Stacy); sisters, Mary Brice (Tom), Suzie Berryman (Darryl Ford), Felicia Smith (Kelley); grandchildren, Will Berryman, Ella Berryman, Emma Berryman, Pearl Backe; and loving partner, Chan Cole.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph & Yvellete Berryman.
