Mr. Jerry "Moon" Wadley Graveside services for Mr. Jerry “Moon” Wadley, age 80, are scheduled for 10 AM, Friday, January 22, 2021 at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Pafford Funeral Home of Lexington is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Wadley passed away early Wednesday in Parsons. He was born August 21, 1940 in Henderson County to the late Earl and Cordelia White Wadley. He retired from Leroy Somer and with his wife, Sue, owned and operated the old Reagan Café for many years. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Tennessee Vols fan and he loved attending all Lexington and Scotts Hill sporting events with is grandson, Tyler. He loved baseball and coached many teams, both local and travel teams. Many past ball players have fond memories of their time together.
Mr. Wadley was preceded in death by three brothers, Willard, Joe, and Danny Wadley; three sisters, Erlene Collier, Imogene Alexander, and Beulah Alexander; and one step daughter, Patty Hopper.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sue Wadley; two sons, Jeff Wadley (Vickie) and Greg Wadley (Tina); his daughter, Amy Carrington (Rusty); step daughter, Pam Wesley; a brother, Donald Wadley; eight grandchildren, Michael Wadley (Emily), Tyler Wadley (Emileigh), Dustin Ross, Dylan Ross (Jessica), Candace Stevens (Adam), Landon Tate (Kristin), Matthew Wadley, and Chelsea Wadley; and seven great grandchildren, Jace Adkisson, Jenna Wadley, Judd Wadley, Dallas Wadley, Reed Ross, Ansley Stevens, and Molly Claire Tate.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3-9 PM at Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington. All visitors are encouraged to wear a mask and observe social distancing guidelines. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the “Jerry Moon Wadley Baseball Scholarship Fund” at Community Bank in Lexington.
