A Visitation for family and friends for Mrs. Jerrie G. Whited, age 67 of Ashland, will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland beginning at 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. The family requests that visitors wear casual clothes in honor of Mrs. Jerrie.
Mrs. Whited passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026 at the Clay County Hospital. She was born in Hartsfield, South Carolina, spent several years in that community before moving to Clay County. Following her graduation from Lineville High school, she worked as a CNA for Clay County Hospital, briefly attended cosmetology school before ultimately working for Wellborn Cabinets in Alexander City and Ashland as an inspector. Mrs. Whited enjoyed going to the beach and collecting seashells, riding horses, and having a nice, cold Mellow Yellow. She was straight forward and blunt, but had a huge heart of gold, and was always willing to help anyone in need. She raised two stubborn kids with love and care, as well as other bonus children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Whited is survived by her husband, Kenneth Whited of Lineville; one daughter, Christina Hill (Randy Shutes) of Ashland, and Justin Hill (Alison Smith) of the Hi Pine Community; five grandsons: Dawson, Marcus, Devin, Jase, and Andrew; two sisters: Kimberly Pressley (Homer Roughton) of Millerville and Tammy Elaggan (Khalid) of Egypt; one brother, Durand Pressley of South Carolina; Her bonus children: Wayne Clifton (Holly) and Leah Clifton (Jacky Brown Jr.); her bonus grandchildren: Vartie and Payton Clifton, and J.D. Mattox, plus other extended family.
Mrs. Whited is preceded in death by her mother, Geri Pressley; bonus grandchild, David Clifton; one sister, Rita Clifton; and a bonus niece, Miranda Crawford.
