Jane Davis, 80, of Brownsboro, passed away Tuesday. Born in Lincoln, Alabama, she grew up in Birmingham. She won and accepted a four year state wide Civitan Oratory scholarship to Birmingham Southern College. On August 16, 1958, she married Charles Davis, her loving husband of 58 years. Mrs. Davis was a retired school teacher from Huntsville City schools. She was a member of First Baptist Church and du Midi Women’s club. Jane was an avid reader and had a bubbly personality that would light up a room. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was our queen.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, and her son, Charlie Peace Davis.
Survivors include her devoted husband, Charles Davis; daughter, Carolyn Felkner (Rob) of Huntsville; and grandchildren, Kimberly Felkner of Atlanta, and Katrina March (George) of Mobile.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Seanor officiating.
